Hood River County Library Foundation

Hood River County Library Foundation

Library Foundation

In 2010, the voters of Hood River County created a Library District to fund the Hood River, Parkdale and Cascade Locks libraries. While tax dollars keep the lights on, buildings open, and books on shelves, our tax rate is among the lowest in the state, providing just a basic level of funding. This is where the Library Foundation comes in. We are a non-profit group formed to enhance and expand library programs and service (to find out more about our mission and what we fund. . . )

Your gift helps us provide the margin of excellence that takes our libraries from good to great. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Foundation was able to donate over $45,000 in 2014.

Feast of Words

Our 5th annual Feast of Words fundraiser will be held on Saturday March 7 6-9 pm. It’s your chance to eat, drink and be merry in the library while raising money to refresh and restore the Georgiana Smith Library Grounds. This beloved community space was created 10 years ago and is in need of some TLC to bring it back to its former glory. Buy your tickets at any library branch or with paypal here.

Special thanks to our sponsors Bruce and Mary Stevenson Foundation, Copper West Properties, Farm Stand in the Gorge, Cardinal Glass Industries, Duckwall-Pooley Fruit Company, Riverside at the Hood River Inn, and Hood River Rotary.
