In 2010, the voters of Hood River County created a Library District to fund the Hood River, Parkdale and Cascade Locks libraries. While tax dollars keep the lights on, buildings open, and books on shelves, our tax rate is among the lowest in the state, providing just a basic level of funding. This is where the Library Foundation comes in. We are a non-profit group formed to enhance and expand library programs and service (find out more about our mission and what we fund).
Your gift helps us provide the margin of excellence that takes our libraries from good to great. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Foundation was able to donate nearly $50,000 in 2015.
Feast of Words
The Hood River County Library Foundation held our annual Feast of Words fundraising event March 12, 2016. THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event a huge success! We had record-breaking attendance and ate, drank, and were merry – some of us even got our faces painted!
If you missed the fun, you can still contribute to the Children’s Library Makeover by sponsoring a sofa, column of shelving, shelf, audio book or book. Your name will go on the item to commemorate your generosity. To purchase, go into a library branch or order below through PayPal.
