Feast of Words - PosterThe Hood River County Library Foundation invites you to eat, drink and be merry in the library at the fifth annual Feast of Words, their annual gala fundraiser, on Saturday, March 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The event will include exquisite desserts and savory appetizers, local wine and beer, and live music in the beautiful downtown Hood River Library. Experience the library as you never have before!

This year, the Library Foundation’s goal is to raise $30,000 to update the Children’s Library at the Hood River Library. The Children’s Library is so popular for its great programs that the staff have asked for help in funding a redesign to make the space more flexible and able to accommodate more events for more kids. This will include replacing some shelving, putting other shelves on wheels so that they are mobile, and sprucing the place up with new paint, flooring and cozy sofas.

There will be many fun events for the whole family at the Feast of Words. People can dance along to live music by Tim Mayer’s Groove Project. Children are welcome, too! Library staff will be on hand with activities for kids downstairs in the Children’s Library. Enjoy the delectable desserts and savory snacks. There will be many great live and silent auction items on which people can bid, too, including a Solstice Pizza dinner for 25 at your home, one week’s lodging in a charming apartment in Oaxaca, Mexico, and fun items from many merchants around the county! Or perhaps you’d like to buy a brick so your personal message is ensconced in the revitalized Gardens.

This event would not be possible without several generous donations, not the least of which are the event sponsors:

The Foundation is also very grateful to the beer sponsor, Double Mountain Brewery, and the wine sponsor, Viento Wines. Thanks also go out to the many individuals and businesses who donated great auction items or contributed their time or resources to the Library Foundation.

Tickets are $25 each and are available at any library branch, Waucoma Bookstore, Volcanic Bottle Shoppe, or online. Tickets may also be bought at the event itself. For more information, please contact us.
