Library staff are happy to help you find the forms you need. Just contact or visit any of our locations for assistance. The first 20 copies are free and each additional copy costs 10 cents per page.

Legal Help for Tax Issues

The Oregon Law Center Low Income Taxpayer Clinic provides free legal help to individuals who have tax issues with the Internal Revenue Service. The clinic offers assistance in understanding IRS documents, responding to IRS requests, finding missing refunds, tax related identify theft, resolving tax debts and other similar issues. They do not provide tax return preparation services.

Although the tax clinic generally only represents clients that qualify as low income, they provide free consultations to all taxpayers.  Language assistance through interpreters is provided in all languages. Tax preparation assistance

If you’d like to prepare your taxes online yourself, library computers are available for preparing your taxes through any number of online programs, including the IRS’s Free File program. CASH Oregon also has information on free tax services.

While library staff aren’t able to offer tax advice, we are fortunate to have the Mid-Columbia AARP’s Tax-Aide Program.

This program provides free tax preparation to low- and moderate-income families, with special emphasis on individuals 60 years and over.

Note: FSA is for taxpayers with good computer skills who can prepare their own returns but may have questions. Income must be under $89,000. FSA software is available in Spanish, but onsite volunteers can only assist in English.
