Employment Opportunities
Hood River County Library District values its staff and seeks enthusiastic, patron-focused individuals to help carry out its mission, we reach out, supporting everyone to learn, create, and grow. Open positions are posted below. The District accepts unsolicited applications when there are no open positions. Unsolicited applications will be kept on file for six months and will be considered if any positions open during that time.

Children’s Services Assistant

- Be the Essential Support to our dedicated Librarians

Join our collaborative team to support engaging children’s programs and services across all library branches, bookmobile, and community locations.
What You’ll Do:
- Support innovative programs and services for children birth through 12th grade, with primary focus on birth through 5th grade
- Majority of focus will be working closely with the Children’s Services Librarian to foster early literacy and lifelong learning while supporting the Teen and Tween Services and Bookmobile Librarians with their vital community work
- Create promotional materials and social media content to connect with families across multiple platforms
- Provide bilingual assistance to Spanish-speaking families

Salary and benefits
HRCLD offers compensation packages comparable to similarly-sized and situated libraries and government agencies in Oregon. All employees receive sick leave benefits. Employees regularly-scheduled for twenty hours per week or more receive other fringe benefits including medical, prescription, alternative care, vision, and dental insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, vacation leave, paid holidays, and a 403(b) retirement plan.
