Contemporary artist Sorcha Meek will be showing large and small scale oil paintings from her ‘Together’ series, at the Hood River Library July 1st through Aug 31st.
Birds, trees and wind turbines symbolize family, friends and relationships. Large sweeping landscapes inspired by The Columbia River Gorge & Meek’s Irish roots. Finely detailed works on teabags set into shadow boxes with rich velvet evoke scientific specimens. Work to be enjoyed by all ages.
After receiving a B.A. in Visual Communication (Cum Laude) from CSUC, Meek continued on to study painting & drawing at The Art Institute of Florence, Italy. Since then she has shown locally, nationally and internationally. Meek’s work is currently carried by The Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery in Portland Oregon.
