Interested in learning the fundamentals of wine appreciation? Join Phelps Creek Vineyards and Hood River County Library District for a hands-on workshop on Thursday, September 3, 6.30-8.00p at the Parkdale Community Center. You will learn how to identify different aromas and flavors in wine and be introduced to some fun ways to develop your own sensory skills. The workshop also will help you identify the primary characteristics of popular varietals and understand how climate, location, soil, and different winemaking techniques can affect a wine. You will have the opportunity to sample wines and test your skills in a blind tasting exercise. Participants also will receive a certificate for a complimentary wine tasting at the Phelps Creek Vineyards Tasting Room in Hood River.
