Bridgid’s Cross [HR]
June 20, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Visit the Hood River Library on Wednesday, June 20th at 6:30 p.m. for a performance by Bridgid’s Cross, a celtic, folk and Americana group.
Bridgid’s Cross is family musical hobby lead by Kevin and Jill Foley from Troutdale Oregon. In 2015 Jill and Kevin played some simple fiddle tunes at the corner of a local Farmer’s market. They were asked to come back the next week. This began a new venture as they began learning more songs as well as incorporating their daughters (ages 11 and 12) into their musical sets. While still in it’s infancy, Bridgid’s cross has now played over 50 gigs. Common venues have been wineries, farmer’s markets, pubs, and outdoor events. We are always trying to grow musically and love to incorporate other musicians into gigs whenever possible. We’ve sought to expand our musical genres beyond Celtic and into Americana and folk, though traditional Irish guitar and fiddle remains at the core. The band is named after St. Bridgid, the patroness of Ireland and lover of the poor. A significant portion of band proceeds and tips are donated to Compassion International, a mission that serves children in the developing world.
