Kids Summer Reading Program 2017

Please check back soon for link to events for the summer!

Sign up starting Saturday, June 17, 2017. Prepare for an epic summer with the kids Summer Reading Program! Summer reading keeps kids’ minds active, inspired and ready for the next school year. All events are free for the whole family. We even have a baby/toddler program!

How it works: Signup at the library! Choose a goal of how many hours you can read this summer. As you progress towards your goal, come in for prizes! Attend our special performances, crafts and activities. Each program you attend counts as an extra hour of reading. Read books! The best prize of all!

Hood River – Thursdays – 10:30am

Baby/toddler storytime: Music and movement

Studies have shown time and again that moving, singing and music experiences are the best preparations for reading and literacy. Plus, they love it! Baby/toddler storytime begins promptly at 10:30am. The first 15 minutes are devoted to developing literacy skills and the rest of the time the children are free to socialize and play with books and musical instruments.

Cascade Locks – Saturdays – 11:00am
