The Science of Happiness –Gorge Happiness [HR]

October 4 @ 6:00 pm

Join us for this introductory talk on the science behind cultivating happiness. Modern humans inherited a nervous system from our Stone Age ancestors that tends to over-focus on the bad, exaggerate threats, minimize    our capabilities, and judge ourselves and others. Fortunately, recent advances in neuropsychology reveal that with simple habits done in the everyday flow of life we can tilt our brains away from its “negativity bias” towards the positive inner strengths. Ellen Donoghue, PhD, is a social scientist who teaches, coaches, and inspires people about cultivating inner strengths for lasting happiness, drawing on Buddhist psychology, wisdom teachers, neuroscience, and her research on well-being.
