The Hood River Library will host Jackie McManus, author of The Earthmover’s Daughter, on Wednesday, August 8 at 7 p.m.
Jackie McManus was born in Stanley, Wisconsin, where she now resides after living for over twenty years in Washington State. She is a former Kindergarten Teacher and Adjunct Professor. She has published in several magazines including The Gorge Literary Journal before completing her debut book The Earthmover’s Daughter.Books will be available for purchase.
The Earthmover’s Daughter is a compilation of poems where loss and grief are fused with vulnerability and strength. With radical honesty, her poetry marches on the page with haunting language, insight, and fearlessness. It does not flinch as it connects the reader to what matters.
