Visit the Hood River Library on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. for a workshop about developing empathy and working with others who have differing values developed by Heidi Venture, a nonprofit consultant.
According to Venture, people are hungry for ways to impact the painful divide that has developed between Reds and Blues. While most are unlikely to have the opportunity or power to make an impact at a national level, or even a state level, individuals can all work on improving the way they relate to each other as individuals and in their own communities. This workshop is designed to help people understand and value differences, and develop empathy for each other. Crossing this divide will enable people to better work together to solve the many problems our communities face, while creating many opportunities to enrich communities.
